My estimated taxes check for 2012 due 1/15/2013 to the IRS got lost in the mail? Will I be penalized?

I mailed my estimated taxes for 2012 due 1/15/2013 to the IRS. My check must have gotten lost in the mail along with utilities check. Now what? I pay the estimated taxes voluntarily so that I will have enough $ to cover my taxes due in April. Will I be penalized if I wait and pay the total amount by April 15th?
