How often does amex issue a new card?

When does American Express issue a new card? After how many years? Does it depend on the type of card you have (Platinum, Gold, Blue Cash, or Plum)?

I think it depends on the Amex card you have, but they will probably issue a new card every 2 to 4 years. Amex Platinum cards may be reisssued every 2 years, while the Amex Plum card may be every 4 years.
