Al-Qaeda is an international Islamic terrorist organization that has loosely affiliated cells whom carry out attacks and bombings with the goal of disrupting the economies and influence of Western nations. Al-Qaeda's objective is also to advance Islamic fundamentalism.
The word "Al-Qaeda" stands for "the base" or "the foundation" in arabic.
