Why did the Buffalo Bills cut Trent Edwards?

The Bills let Trent Edwards go because he wasn't able to get it done for the Bills after starting the first 2 games of the 2010 season and performing poorly. Ryan Fitzpatrick started for the Bills in week 3 and the higher ups at the Bills felt it was time to cut their losses with Trent. Bills coach Gailey, said they didn't want to relagate Trent to 3rd string QB or practice squad QB, since they wanted to go with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brian Brohm as the 1st and 2nd QBs for the Bills.

For 3 years Trent Edwards a.k.a "Captain Checkdown" just could never get comfortable as QB for the Bills, especially after getting a bad concussion which he never seemed to recover from.

If you ever watched Trent Edwards throw a football, he would barely ever throw a tight spiral. The ball was always wobbly and slowly thrown. He also never had great timing with his receivers and barely ever got into rhythm offensively. Overall, it was a good decision for the Bills to finally cut there losses with Trent and move on without him.
