Are bulldogs dangerous?

Are bulldogs significantly more dangerous than other breeds of dogs? What are some factors that might cause a bulldog to lash out?

Although the bulldog is quite an aggressive breed and there have been a number of recorded instances of bulldogs attacking humans, a dog’s personality and its reactions to its environment are very much related to its training and upbringing. A bulldog can also act much more aggressive and domineering if it is poorly socialized.
