How do I get rid of my dog’s fleas?

How do I treat my dog’s flea condition? What steps should I take to ensure the fleas do not come back?

Pay a visit to your vet and pick up a bottle of flea product. Antihistamines such as Benadryl should also help alleviate your dog’s itching. In order to prevent your dog from biting the flea-infested area, put a cone around its head until the itching subsides. If the condition does not get better with home treatment, take your dog to the vet immediately.
