Someone please help. Is my boyfriend lying? on messenger under his name it said active now. He swears he was not online chatting.

I sent him an IM and then it showed active 1m ago- messenger. So I text him. He basically said he phone does that but he was chatting with no one and was not on his phone. This happens several times a day. Will it show active if he just goes on FB or does it mean he is chatting?

No, more than likely he is telling the truth and is NOT lying. Facebook seems to update the Last Active and Online Chat active (green dot) even when you're not on Facebook or Facebook Chat. It seems to update randomly for some people so I wouldn't worry about it.
